The team has so far managed to win the bowl competition in two of their previous tournaments but know that they have what it takes to be in the cup competition.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached side has been preparing well and had the opportunity to train with Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan.

“It is never easy to go and compete at any 7s tournament. We want to do better than our previous tournaments and make the Cup quarters as we are also in contention to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio next year”.

“Ben Ryan has been working with the girls on the technical aspects of the game and I have noticed a difference on how the girls manage the tactics on the field”.

At the naming of the team last week, Fiji Rugby Union CEO Radrodro Tabualevu said FRU was confident that the team would do well and thanked Telecom Fiji CEO Mothilal De Silva for their support towards rugby in Fiji.

TFL CEO Mothilal De Silva said it was a proud moment for the company to support not only the Telecom Fijiana team but other rugby teams in the country.

“We believe the team will do the country proud as you know Fiji is a rugby crazy nation and with every tournament these girls take part in, it improves their performance.”

“A win for the team is a win for Telecom. It is a proud moment for us to sponsor them, De Silva said.

The Canada 7s will be held from April 18-19.
