Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua named for Super W final
Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua Head Coach Inoke Male has named his final 23-member squad as they eye to defend the Super W title against Queensland Reds in the grand final tomorrow.
Male said “They have left no stones unturned in preparing the team for the final. The morale in camp is high and the girls are determined to deliver once again this year.”
Expect power and robust play from our front row, with skipper Bitila Tawake at Loosehead, Keleni Marawa at Hooker and Siteri Rasolea at Tighthead.
Asinate Serevi and Mereoni Nakesa partner up at locks while Karalaini Naisea and Sulita Waisega will lock the scrum from the flankers’ positions guided by experienced Sereima Leweniqila at number 8.
After an improved game last week, Evivi Senikarivi get her start at half-back with Jennifer Ravutia controlling the play from the fly half.
The powerful center combination of Merewai Cumu and Vani Arei will again be key in breaking the defense of the opposition. We have also speeds on the wings with Kolora Lomani on the left and Adita Milinia on the right.
Luisa Tisolo will guide the team from the fullback position.
Male has made a swift change on the bench. He has opted for two front-row players, props, Joma Rubuti and Anasimeci Korovata. It’s expected Bitila Tawake will move to hooker when replacements take place in the second spell.
Jade Coates, Doreen Narokete and Adi Fulori are the forwards, while Setaita Railumu is the backup halfback alongside Wainikiti Vosadrau and Laisani Moceisawana for the backs.
The Fijiana Drua will face Queensland Reds at 6.45pm FJT tomorrow at Queensland Countrybank Stadium in Townsville.
