FIJI Water Flying Fijians back in Samoa after five years

FIJI Water Flying Fijians return to play at Apia Park against Samoa after a lapse of five years. The last time Manu Samoa hosted Flying Fijians was during the Pacific Nations Cup when the visitors produced a 38-16 win.

Head Coach Simon Raiwalui, assistant coaches Graham Dewes, Seremaia Bai, and Bill Gadolo have represented the national team in Apia during their playing days and are back as coaches and in the management group this year.

This will be the first time for the majority of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians players to feature at Apia Park apart from Peni Ravai, Sam Matavesi, Viliame Mata, and Josua Tuisova.

Coach Raiwalui said “It’s great to be back in Samoa as it has been a long time and I think the last time I was here was in early 2000 when I was playing for Fiji so we are looking forward to the match tomorrow.

Captain Semi Radradra said they are looking forward to playing their first away match.

“The weather here is nice compared to Nadi for the past few days as it has been raining. It looks like tomorrow will be the same and we are prepared for it” said Radradra.

FIJI Water Flying Fijians arrived in the capital of Samoa in the early hours and went straight to their camp base.

The team held its captain’s run today and polished up the concern areas for the match against Samoa which is expected to be a mouth-watering battle.

FIJI Water Flying Fijians and Samoa have played each other 27 times since their first clash on the 18th of August 1924.

FIJI Water Flying Fijians face Samoa at 2pm {FJT} tomorrow.
