Weet-Bix Raluve Competition

The Weet-Bix Raluve Competition was launched in 2022 at the Fiji Rugby Union House in Suva. This initiative was brought about to support women’s rugby at the grassroots level in Fiji, with the aim of providing a pathway for young ladies in secondary schools to participate in rugby.

The competition primarily consists of 77 teams and approximately 3,100 girls, operating along side the Vodafone Deans Trophy Competition across the four major zones in Fiji — Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern Zones.

CJ Patel (Pacific) are the major sponsors of the competition, marketing Weet-Bix with the slogan “Weet-Bix kids are Fiji Kids” highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting local sports, especially women’s rugby.

This competition marks a significant moment as emphasised by the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Association and the Fiji Rugby Union, who acknowledged the motivation derived from the achievements of the Fijiana women’s team in global events such as the Super W and the Olympics. The event is regarded as a means to create career opportunities for aspiring young female athletes.
