Fijiana Drua sets target ahead of first Super W match

Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua had a good hit out against USA-based Rhino Rugby Academy at Prince Charles Park today.

The match gave an opportunity to Head Coach Inoke Male and his coaching team to test the 34-member extended squad before they begin with their Super W title defense campaign against Brumbies next weekend.

Male was impressed with the performance of the team but believes there is still a few areas to polish before the game.

“Looking at the overall game, there are some loopholes that we need to work on but I’m satisfied with most of the areas of the game. Next week the girls will go back to the drawing board to rectify the areas we need to work on and come prepared against Brumbies” said Male.

Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua captain Asinate Serevi said the girls played with confidence against a strong Rhino outfit.

Serevi said “I’m happy with how we played today as a team and I think we can step up a notch for the next game.

I know we have still a lot to work on but I’m grateful how the girls worked with confidence and displayed the game of rugby.”
