About The Development Unit
The Fiji Rugby Union Development Unit plays a pivotal role in nurturing the rugby aspirations of Fijians, from grassroots programs to elite levels. Supported financially by World Rugby through its Trust Development Investment, the Unit is dedicated to fostering growth in the sport across the country. Its focus spans three strategic areas: increasing participation, enhancing training and education, and promoting women’s rugby. By developing young players and empowering coaches with the technical expertise to match international standards, the Unit works to ensure that rugby remains an integral part of Fiji’s sporting culture, while also challenging gender norms to create opportunities for women in the sport.
