Operations Unit

The Operations Department of Fiji Rugby Union, often referred to as the engine room of the Fiji Rugby Union, the Operations Department plays a critical role in the successful delivery of rugby across the nation. This department is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of all rugby tournaments under FRU’s jurisdiction—ranging from local competitions to high-profile international test matches.

The Operations Department is essential to the structure and functionality of rugby in Fiji, ensuring that the game is played in a safe, organised, and professional manner at every level.

Key Responsibilities

Tournament Management

Organising and overseeing all FRU-sanctioned competitions, both domestic and international.

Logistics Coordination

Managing the complex logistics involved in hosting events and matches, including venues, travel, accommodation, and equipment.

Union Support

Providing ongoing operational support to all 26 affiliated provincial unions across Fiji.

Regulatory Oversight

Ensuring compliance through the monitoring of tournament sanctions and the enforcement of terms of participation.

Governance

Monitoring the adherence of all affiliated unions to FRU regulations and standards to ensure the integrity and smooth operation of all rugby activities nationwide.
